A cantilever gate hangs from roller carriages beside the opening. The tail section behind the posts balances the leaf, so it glides across the entrance a hand-width above the ground.
That one detail removes the usual failure point of sliding gates. Gravel, sand, snow, ice, mud and drainage channels have nothing to jam. Forklifts and trucks cross a clean, flat apron.

Proven on a 22 m airport perimeter opening
An international airport in the Maldives needed a 22 m clear opening in a salty, humid climate. One long leaf would have opened too slowly at peak times.
We designed two 11 m bi-parting leaves, each 16.5 m long, on 7.0 mm bottom beams with AkzoNobel coating. The required opening time was cut in half.
Cantilever gate questions buyers ask first
What is a cantilever gate?
A cantilever gate is a sliding gate that hangs from roller carriages mounted beside the opening. The extra length behind the gate acts as a counterbalance, so the leaf crosses the driveway without touching the ground and no track is laid across the entrance.
How long can a CAIMEN cantilever gate be?
Single leaves have been delivered at up to 28 m total length. Clear openings reach 18 m with one leaf and 36 m with a bi-parting pair. Height can be customized up to 4.0 m.
Why aluminum instead of steel?
The beams are 6005-T6 aluminum, so the leaf is lighter for the drive and does not rust like untreated steel. Every gate is finished with AkzoNobel Interpon D1000 powder as standard, with D2000 available for harsher climates.
Can it work with license plate recognition?
Yes. The controller has dry-contact inputs, so LPR cameras, RFID readers, keypads, intercoms and phone apps can trigger the gate. Many sites pair the gate with a fast boom barrier for peak traffic.
How long does production take?
Production typically takes 15 to 20 days after you approve our CAD drawings. Shipping time depends on your port.
